Richard, 7 month old (M)- Austrialian Cattle Dog/Beagle Mix
Richard came in with a back leg injury. He needs foster for about a week to continue to heal.
He needs limited activity, to be kept as calm as possible and will need to keep his e-collar on. He is currently on cage rest (and we can provide the crate).
Children: Unknown but probably fine
Dogs:: Not at this time as he is healing and gets very excited by dogs

Zeus, 1 year old (M)- Staffy Mix (70 lbs)
Zeus is so sad at the shelter and we are looking for an Adoption Ambassador for him or at least a few weeks away from the shelter.
Children: older kids 10+ (due to mouthy play behaviors)
Dogs: Meet & Greet Required. Has done well in play groups.
Cats: No cats
Other: Would do best to be crated when unsupervised while he settles in and learns his boundaries. Can be strong on leash - so need to either be able to walk him or have a fully fenced in yard. Potty trained per previous foster.

Trey, 1 years old (M) - Pit-Boxer Mix
Trey has been with us since the end of December and would benefit from some additional time in foster while waiting for his forever home. He has struggled with stress here at the shelter. His previous foster described him as low maintenance and joy to take care of!
Dogs: Yes! Would do best with medium- large energetic dogs.
Cats: No
Kids: Previous owner says he has done great with kids, lived with a 7 year old and has been around other ages.
Other: House trained. Crate trained. No soft/rope toys (he might eat them). Loves to cuddle.

Bella Swan, 10 years old (F) - Pit-Boxer Mix
Bella Swan is a sweet older lady that deserves to wait for her forever family on a cozy couch. Sweet smiley girl. Would love to give her a shelter break or look for an adoption ambassador.

Cats: No & No Small Animals.

Cheeseburger, 8 months old (M) - Terrier Pit Mix
Cheeseburger would benefit from some time in foster to decompress and work on his jumpy/mouthy puppy behaviors.
Dogs: M&G required - playful. Has been great here at self-handicapping and reading other dogs'

Jerry, 4 year old (M)- Hound Mix
Jerry is a sweet man who needs a foster that will give him time to warm up to him. He is growing nervous at the shelter and would love a shelter break for 1 - 2 weeks or an Adoption Ambassador.
Children: older kids 12+ (he's afraid of loud sounds and sudden movement sometimes)
Dogs: Meet & Greet Required.
Cats: unknown
Other: Can be nervous around men initially.

Geo, 3 year old (M)- Belgian Malinois [Located at EC]
Geo is currently our longest resident.
Children: M&G Required. Would suggest kids 8+ with dog experience.
Dogs: Meet & Greet Required. Would do best with dogs 40 lbs + and with a similar play style
Cats: NO and no small animals
Other: Can be low energy but can also match your energy- so would be a great work from home companion AND a running buddy. Cuddly boy and an easy walker.

Gracie, 2 year old (F) - Saint Bernard Mix
Gracie is a big sweet girl who is pretty shy at the shelter. She can be timid upon meeting but warms up in time. She would benefit from some time in a shelter home. She was adopted from KHS less than a month ago but returned because she is very large and can climb a 4 foot fence.
Children: Yes but needs to meet everyone in home
Dogs: Yes but M&G required
Cats: Yes per owner surrender

Macaroni Bob, 2 years old (M) - Mixed Breed
Macaroni Bob came to us at the end of January and would benefit from time in foster to decompress from the shelter and work on his puppy-like jumpy/moouthy behaviors. He has been described as cuddly and playful (loves to fetch!). He loves to play with other dogs here at the shelter and has been in daily playgroups.
Dogs: M& G Required. Would do best with other playful dogs that match his play style.
Cats: Unknown
Kids: Would do best with older dog-savvy children due to mouthy behaviors. 10+ Years.
Other: Housetrained :) Sometimes may untie your shoes on a walk

Astro is overly stressed at the shelter and needs some time to decompress in a quiet home while up for adoption.

Sweet, calm boy who is beginning to becomes stressed in the shelter. Could use a shelter break for 1 - 2 weeks. Currently located at East Campus.
Dogs: M&G Required. Guards food from other dogs which would need to managed.
Cats: No & no small animals.
Kids: Loves kids!
Other: Needs to gain some weight. Has some vision loss, but not blind.

Gideon, 1 year old (M) - Hound Mix
We are looking for an adoption ambassador for this fun-loving teenager pup. He is sure to fill your home with lots of love and adventure. This guy has a lot of energy, and would love a home with a yard to romp around in.
He has been on many sleep overs and shelter breaks but he needs a more long term foster home for adoption ambassador. His previous fosters have said that his biggest problem is deciding what toy is his favorite!
Children: Has lived with children, Interacts well with some children, Can play too roughly with children but would love if this was worked on while in a foster home.
Dogs: Plays well with some dogs, meet & greet required
Cats: Chases, barks at or pesters cats

[In Foster] Burton, 2 year old (M)- Retriever Mix
Burton was left behind at a Pet Resort and has been with us for about a week. His previous owner reported that he hasn't had any experience with dogs, cats, or children. He has been very nervous here.
Children: Unknown. Older kids 12+
Dogs: Meet & Greet Required.
Cats: unknown but walked through a room of cats without issue (but we would still suggest a slow intro to resident cats)

[In Foster] Winnie, 6 years old (F) - Anatolian Shepherd
Sweet but nervous girl. Has separation anxiety and has trouble being closed in a room. Would like to send her to a home where she can be free range in the home or have people home with her a lot.
Children: Has not met children. 8+ due to guarding although to date it's only been with other dogs. 12/18 UPDATE: was in foster for a weekend and did well with the teenager in the home.
Dogs: M&G Required. Some history of resource guarding which needs to be managed.
Cats: Has lived with cats. Ok with cats.

Other: Per owner, very strong puller. May do best with with fenced in yard. very lovey boy.

Mylee just came to KHS from a home and is absolutely terrified here. Smart, sweet and potty trained.
Children: has lived with children per OSS
Dogs: per OSS, has lived with other dogs successfully
Cats: NO CATS- chases/pesters

Below are a few pictures of dogs on their shelter breaks. All of these animals were very stressed, or otherwise not doing well, in the shelter environment. After just a quick break, you can see how much more relaxed and happy they are.
[In Foster] Bailey, 6 years old (F) - Retriever Mix (56 lbs)
Bailey is a recent arrival to KHS but is very stressed in the kennel. We would love to give her a chance to decompress in a foster home for 1 -2 weeks or send her with a longer term Adoption Ambassador!
Children: Prev. owner recommends older children
Dogs: No. Was reactive to other dogs in the home. Owner said she was okay coexisting for short periods of time.
Cats: Unknown
Other: Potty trained.
